其實這部剛推出時我就有瞧一下PV之類的,記得有男男的誘餌,但因為是虛構的,所以拖到現在才自投羅網

源起:幾週前的週日,爸媽無意間提到他們有在看公視的外國影集,結果他們看幾週了連片名都還記不清(但頗有心得,跟我奶奶一樣會邊看邊說"伊係spy!"←搞不好有偵探知道老人家看哪部了w),我知道後當然儘可能觀賞,但網路上有附英文字幕的更有助英文學習,所以就截圖+key一些台詞在圖中(請自行查閱)

Cora

It’s too awful for any words. [伯爵告訴夫人Mary未婚夫在船上]But...surely they were picked up?

Robert

Doesn’t look like it.

Cora

What? You must tell Mary. She can’t hear about it from anyone else.(O’Brien[to maids]Her Ladyship was the colour of this cloth)

這段我覺得不錯,伯爵第一集就要把剛來的昔日戰友Bates辭退也太哀傷了,但最後還是文藝愛情片地追上馬車跟Bates說以後不再談這事!接在Thomas跟Duke後讓我對大家長伯爵想入非非啊(對不起我去面壁思過

是說即將登場的Matthew(配上鐵達尼號的歷史背景,讓我想到當年的Jack=李奧納多XD),是在Manchester工作的solicitor(我跟英美法律不熟,學到新字了)

Carson

I’ve been studying the story of Andromeda. Do you know it?

Matthew

Why?

Mary

Her father was King Cepheus, whose country was being ravaged by storms. And in the end, he decided the only way to appease the gods was to sacrifice his eldest daughter to a hideous sea monster. So they chained her naked to a rock...

Matthew

But the sea monster didn’t get her, did he?

Mary

No. just when it seemed he was the only solution to her father’s problems, she was rescued.

Matthew

By Perseus.

Mary

That’s right. Perseus. Son of a god. Rather more fitting, wouldn’t you say?

Matthew

That depends. I’d have to know more about the princess and the sea monster in question.

Matthew&Mary根本在演Pride&Prejudice,幸好我知道Andromeda不然也要用smelling salts了,是說不是每個人都開得起"sea monster"這種玩笑,Matthew果然是編劇給女性觀眾的禮物XD邊看邊內心os:"Thomas不要染指Matthew![Thomas拿餐盤給Matthew拿菜時,Matthew的仰角讓我很害怕兩人擦出火花,那Mary會想一頭撞在果凍上吧]"、"Matthew那條大魚只有妳姊能料理,Edith自己去釣一條吧[遞魚竿]"

另外Matthew雖然感覺冷冷的,但不是永凍層,聽懂主人的意思希望他找點事給僕人做時(以免僕人覺得自己在領乾薪),就嘗試讓僕人為他著裝,還不經意地誇獎僕人,讓僕人喜出望外~正所謂:孺子可教也!(拇指)
